We ca...I am totally stealing the lanyard idea too! We call "juicy words" "million dollar words" but, I agree, it is a great concept. My students also avoid the dictionary and thesaurus (probably because I do) so this was interesting. We did a lot more predicting and using context clues this year before learning definitions.
